HISTORY: In the mid-1970’s Gary Hirsch, who holds a masters degree in special education, was principle of the La Esperanza school for retarded/severely handicapped children in California’s San Mateo county public school system. Realizing that the incontinence which affected many students with disabilities would remain with them throughout their adult years, he became interested in finding ways to help students, teachers and caregivers deal with the condition in a manner that stressed convenience and personal dignity. He began researching products and methodologies, and founded G. Hirsch and Company Inc. in 1978 with the goal of providing innovative products for incontinence management. One of his innovations was designing the "SLIP ON" Belted Undergarment product which is now used throughout the industry. In the ensuing years, our product line has increased and developed as new technologies have become available, and our distribution has expanded from the regional basis of our early days to our current national presence. Our SECURE® brands feature both disposable and reusable products, and are utilized in retail consumer, homecare and institutional settings.
